The Promise Prepares to Open for It's 17th Season on June 3, 2005

In 2005, The Promise will be celebrating its 17th Season at The Texas Amphitheater in Glen Rose, Texas with 40 scheduled public presentations on Friday and Saturday eves starting June 3rd and continuing through October 29th. This season, The Promise is staged to go one of the most exciting and memorable events for North Central Texas and all of its communities

The Promise is the unforgettable epic poem musical play about the Life of Jesus Of Nazareth Christ. Utilizing an awarding winning musical score, unrecorded animals, and a cast of characters and crew of over 150 dedicated people and volunteers, the audience witnessers the birth, life, death, burial, resurrection, and Ascension of Jesus. The Promise inspires as well as entertains 10s of thousands of visitants each summertime and supplies a agency for Negro spiritual reclamation to all involved.

In 1984, the dreaming began--a dreaming of introducing a loving, laughing, approachable Jesus Of Nazareth to the world in a casual, out-of-door environment. This dreaming became a world with the gap of The Promise in November 1989.

What began as a passionateness play have go an exciting, unrecorded musical drama, a Texas tourist attraction, and a powerful testimony to the full world. Designed by Simon Peter Wolf of Dallas, Texas, to take advantage of the peal hills as a backdrop, the Texas Amphitheater characteristics a Greco-Roman fit with 42-foot arches and a six-story archway eminent over a 65 x 100 foursquare ft tri-level stage. Construction began on the picturesque site, just off the intersection point of United States 67 and Texas 144 in Glen Rose in August 1989 and culminated in the gap public presentation of the modern-day musical play of Jesus Of Nazareth and His compassionateness for the sick, the downtrodden, the unforgiven.

Word Music originally developed the Promise in cooperation with Kingdom Development Company from the original book by Dr. January Dargatz and music produced by Gary Rhodes. The Promise in Glen Rose is licensed by Kingdom Development to bring forth the show at the Texas Amphitheatre.

Just as the adherents brought varying backgrounds to Jesus' ministry on earth, the dreamers, creators, and performing artists of The Promise have got brought different ideas, beliefs, and styles to the musical drama.
